When a fire breaks out, every second is a race against death. On the last line of defense for building fire safety, the role of fire-resistant glass is shifting from "optional" to "standard." With the continuous strengthening of national fire safety regulations and a significant increase in public awareness of safety, the fire-resistant glass market is ushering in unprecedented development opportunities. As a high-tech enterprise with nearly two decades of experience in the specialty glass field, Zhejiang Jingtai Glass Technology Co., Ltd., leveraging its profound technological accumulation and comprehensive certification system, continues to exert its strength in the fields of monolayer and composite fire-resistant glass, building a solid defense line for national property and the safety of people's lives with its superior product performance.

With strengthened policies, the fire-resistant glass market is entering a golden age of development.

In recent years, high-rise building fires have occurred frequently both domestically and internationally, and building fire safety issues have received increasing attention from all sectors of society. As an indispensable core component of building fire protection systems, fire-resistant glass effectively blocks the spread of flames and smoke, buying precious time for evacuation and fire rescue. Its key role in improving building safety has been widely recognized.

Globally, the fire-resistant glass market is experiencing strong growth. According to the latest market research data, the global fire-resistant glass market is projected to grow from US$13.07 billion in 2025 to US$29.48 billion in 2034, representing a CAGR of 9.46% from 2026 to 2034. This growth is primarily driven by increasingly stringent safety regulations and building standards across various industries, with accelerated industrialization and urbanization further amplifying the demand for fire protection.

Focusing on the domestic market, the growth momentum for fire-resistant glass is even stronger. Industry data shows that from 2021 to 2025, the market size of China's fire-resistant glass window industry steadily increased from RMB 8.63 billion to RMB 14.79 billion, with a CAGR of 14.2%. The core driving force comes from the revision of the "Regulations on Fire Safety Management of High-Rise Civil Buildings" and the "Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings," as well as the mandatory implementation of the new national standard GB15763.1-2023. Entering 2026, the specialty glass market will continue its high growth trend, with the overall market size expected to grow at a rate of 8%-10%, higher than the average level of the glass industry. Fire-resistant glass demand is projected to grow by 12%-15% year-on-year, primarily driven by three factors: increased demand from new commercial complexes and transportation hubs; replacement demand from upgrades to fire protection systems in older buildings, with an expected growth of 10%-12% in the first half of 2026; and rapid growth in demand from the new energy sector (such as energy storage power stations and photovoltaic inverters), with an expected growth rate of 20%-25%. Regionally, East and South China, with their high concentration of high-end buildings and new energy projects, are expected to see a 15%-18% growth in fire-resistant glass demand. Notably, the "Guidance Catalogue for the First Batch of Application Demonstration of Key New Materials in Zhejiang Province (2025 Edition)," officially released by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology in 2025, explicitly includes fire-resistant and heat-insulating ceramic aerogel and other new materials within its support scope, opening up a broad policy window for fire-resistant glass companies in the province.

Dual-engine approach, building a differentiated product matrix. Fire-resistant glass, due to its stable performance under extreme high temperatures, is widely used in modern architectural design, not only meeting increasingly stringent regulatory requirements but also becoming an important element in enhancing architectural aesthetics. According to the Chinese National Standard GB 15763.1—2009 "Safety Glass for Buildings Part 1: Fire-resistant Glass," fire-resistant glass is classified into heat-insulating fire-resistant glass (Class A) and non-heat-insulating fire-resistant glass (Class C) according to its fire resistance performance, with fire resistance limits divided into five levels: 0.50h, 1.00h, 1.50h, 2.00h, and 3.00h. Fire integrity refers to the ability of the glass on the fire-exposed side to effectively block the penetration of flames and hot gases within a specified fire resistance time, maintaining the safety of the unexposed side; fire insulation requires that the temperature of the unexposed side of the glass does not exceed a specified value within a specified time, providing a safe thermal environment for escape and rescue personnel.

Zhejiang Jingtai Glass Technology has two complete product lines: monolithic fire-resistant glass and composite fire-resistant glass, providing precise solutions for different application scenarios.

Monolithic Fire-Resistant Glass: Class C non-insulating fire-resistant glass, it undergoes a high-temperature ion-exchange chemical treatment process. Under flame impact at temperatures up to 1000℃, monolithic cesium potassium fire-resistant glass can remain intact for 84 to 183 minutes without shattering. Its fire-resistant principle is achieved through an ion-exchange treatment process lasting over twenty hours, giving the glass a low thermal expansion rate, allowing it to soften at high temperatures without breaking, maintaining its integrity and forming a safety barrier against the spread of flames and toxic gases. At the same thickness, monolithic fire-resistant glass is 6 to 12 times stronger than float glass and 1.5 to 3 times stronger than tempered glass. It also has good workability and can be further processed into laminated safety glass, insulated glass, coated glass, and point-supported curtain wall glass, widely used in curtain walls, exterior windows, and other applications.

Composite Fire-Resistant Glass: Class A insulated fire-resistant glass, it is made by laminating two or more layers of glass with a transparent fire-retardant adhesive between them. When a fire occurs, the special transparent chemical substances in the interlayer absorb a large amount of heat from the flames and expand, forming a barrier layer with extremely low thermal conductivity. This effectively prevents the spread of flames and the transfer of heat radiation, providing excellent thermal insulation while maintaining fire resistance integrity. The fire resistance and thermal insulation requirements for composite fire-resistant glass stipulate that the average temperature rise on the unexposed side should not exceed 140℃, and no single point should exceed 180℃, providing crucial thermal protection for escape and rescue personnel. This type of product is mainly suitable for indoor fire compartments, fire doors, and other places with strict requirements for fire resistance and thermal insulation.
